Zoe Saldana stars in Avatar

Zoe Saldana will be starring in Avatar later this year and one lucky bunch of journalsits had to hand over all their electronic equipment before being allowed into a screening room for James Cameron´s new sci fi movie.

Jon Landau, the film’s producer, said: “The script for Avatar started 14 years ago, but back then, the technology to make a film like that did not exist.” And now that it does, it´s going to be spectacular!

The story is focused on another planet, the world of Pandora. Humans want to mine it and the locals, the Na´vi are not amused by these outsiders trying to destory their planet. Fair enough, I´d say, as does the sory´s heroe, Jack Sully, a paralysed marine. He changes teams and leads the Na´vi in an effort to rid Pandora of humans.

I must say, the story sounds kinda lame, and calling a planet Pandora is just silly, but the special effects are supposed to be lush and Zoe Saldana is as well, so I´m not complaining!
